Endorsement Process

EBWPA Election Endorsements: 2020 General Election

The East Bay Women's Political Alliance (EBWPA) endorses candidates and ballot measures who support and adhere to our bottom line issues. We support endorsed campaigns with volunteer activities as well as financially. We are grateful to our donorswhose support gives us the tools and resources to fulfill our mission.

Candidates must meet a 60% threshold of present voting members to receive the EBWPA endorsement. In order to be considered for endorsement, a candidate must fill out our EBWPA Candidate Questionnaire.

Candidate questionnaires were due August 28th.

Thank you to all of the candidates that present at our Endorsement Meetings and to our members that attend and vote.

Ballot Measures

In order to propose a measure to the membership base for endorsement, please submit a 4-minute video addressing how the measure connects to the EBWPA mission statement.

In lieu of an in-person meeting this year, all videos will be posted for members to view and vote on.

Please submit a video to [email protected] by September 4.

Support for Endorsed Candidates

Endorsed candidates will receive support from EBWPA to help them get elected. The Board determines levels and types of support based on a number of variables such as the number of women on the elected body, number of women in the race, competitiveness of the race, etc. Support of endorsed candidates may include the following:

  • Use of name and logo on campaign & promotional items
  • Inclusion in EBWPA election materials
  • Inclusion in EBWPA slate cards
  • Financial contributions
  • Sponsored canvassing, phone-banking & GOTV

Thank you for participating in our Endorsement Process.
