2020 General Election Endorsements

Thank you for your support EBWPA! Because of our collective strength, we will ensure a focus on issues important to East Bay women up and down the ballot.

The endorsement process will kick off on September 26th, when we release candidate videos and written statements on our website, and all ballots must be electronically submitted by October 3rd.

To help with the important work of coming together to discuss these issues and others, we'll be hosting a virtual happy hour. Join us on Zoom on September 26th for the kickoff to celebrate the hard work and answer any final questions as you're filling out your ballot! Nonmembers are welcome to join the happy hours, but only members in good standing may vote.

Register for the 4 PM September 26th Happy Hour here.

In order to receive the EBWPA endorsement a candidate must declare their agreement to/support for our organization's bottom line issues and meet a 60% support threshold of present voting members. EBWPA only endorses pro-choice women candidates and measures that directly affect the wellbeing of women in our community. All candidates seeking the endorsement of the East Bay Women's Political Alliance must have completed our Candidate Questionnaire.

EBWPA's Bottom Line Issues:

  • Pro Choice
  • Advancing gender equity
  • Mentoring women to create new generations of women's leadership
  • Ending discrimination based on age, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, immigration status, marital status, socioeconomic status, and disability

For EBWPA to consider a ballot measure at the endorsement meeting, please email ebwpaendorsement@gmail.com with the name of the measure (Letter if applicable), information about the measure, and a contact person for the committee.
